Position summary: Responsible for preparing plans from the provided engineering sketches and details for projects. Reports in Oahu, Hawaii at least 25% of the time. Other 75% of the time near Odenton, Maryland. Travel costs will be paid.

This is a full time opportunity for a project with a construction duration of at least 1 year.

Essential functions and responsibilities

• Transfer engineering sketches and details to plans utilizing AutoCAD
• Conducts site surveys within owned and leased facilities for capturing site and facility characteristics
• Creates or modifies engineering plans, drawings, or schematics for design projects
• Incorporates as-built information from completed on-site construction into electronic files for the sites and facilities
• Prepare weekly log of tasks performed
• Makes basic engineering computations.
• Makes quality control corrections to master CAD drawings

Nonessential functions and responsibilities

• Perform other related duties as assigned

Required Skills

• Proficient in AutoCAD
• Knowledge of design and drafting procedures

Required Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Minimum experience of 3 years experience as a designer
• Federal top secret security clearance

Preferred Experience

• Technical school training with courses in computer-aided drafting

Working Conditions

• Work is performed within a general office environment and at sites. Verification work requires standing and walking. Lighting and temperature are adequate and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc. within the office environment.
