    SUMMARY:

     

    Nurse Practitioners will answer phones and triage patients who want to be tested and/or evaluated for COVID. Nurse Practitioners will be required to perform COVID Swabbing and Evaluation. COVID swabbing and evaluation will be done in tent outside of Military Treatment Facility or in clinic inside the Military Treatment Facility. Nurse Practitioners will swab patients and bring sick or ill appearing patients inside MTF for full clinical evaluation, workup and consideration for admission. Nurse Practitioners shall be subject to the same quality improvement assurance standards as those required for comparable military or government civilian providers. Nurse Practitioners will be responsible for compliance with all procedures in accordance with applicable Medical Command (MEDCOM) and BACH written policies, procedures and regulations Army regulations. 

     

    NON-ESSENTIAL DUTIES:  Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

    Required Skills

    Education, Experience and Licensure:

     

    Required:

    • Degree: Master's degree in nursing.
    • Education: Graduate from an academic program, within the nursing specialty field of study that is accredited by a regional or national nursing accrediting agency recognized by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) or the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE).
    • Certification:Certified in the specialty required by the TO as a Nurse Practitioner by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) or the recognized national nursing certification organization for the specialty area of practice as appropriate (for example, National Certification Board of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners and Nurses, American Nurses Association, National Certification Corporation for the Obstetric, Gynecologic and Neonatal Specialties).
    • Experience: As required to meet clinical competency requirements specified in the Service-specific credentialing instructions, minimum one year experience as a Nurse Practitioner.
    • Licensure: Current, full, active, and unrestricted license as a Registered Nurse.
    • Must have and maintain Basic Life Support certification (BLS) by an approved American Heart Association training entity. Web based classes do not meet required standards
    • Nurse Practitioner shall have and maintain a current Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) registration number (certificate). License must correspond to DEA registration number.

     

     

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

     

    The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

     

    Essential and marginal functions may require maintaining physical condition necessary for bending, stooping, sitting, walking or standing for prolonged periods of time; most of time is spent sitting in a comfortable position with frequent opportunity to move about.  On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift moderately light items up to 35 pounds. Near visual acuity to review written documentation; ability to hear and understand speech at normal room levels and on the telephone; manual dexterity to operate a telephone and keyboard; lift horizontally and vertically.  Assignment may require travel and work assignments at other locations.  Travel may be of durations of a week or more and require air travel.
