    At Globe Life, the primary purpose of the senior technical project manager role is to lead, oversee, and direct the project resources to a successful delivery and management of single or multiple IT projects (considering priority, scope, timeline, cost and quality requirements). Maturing IT PMO requires Sr PM to be able to lead projects defined at a high-level, dynamic change management will be required to deliver business value.

    PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Analyze (Intake Provided) project planning artifacts prior to project kick-off to ensure a clearly defined project vision and objectives, seeking out clarification of unclear objectives when needed.
    • Manage business and technical requirements gathering, turning documentation into plans and roadmaps, clarifying ambiguities or interpretation gaps prior to translation into project tasks and/or deliverables.
    • With support of project resources and SME’s, the Sr PM will analyze project planning (Intake-provided) artifacts, to establish time frame, limitations, and appropriate process for accomplishing project delivery. Identify and schedule project deliverables, milestones, required activities, tasks and resources for accomplishing tasks/activities.
    • Document project details within living project documentation materials documenting the lifecycle of each project and for progressing through the variety of stop gates to obtain leadership approval to proceed.
    • Working with team resources and SMEs, identify, clarify, and communicate a transparent project vision, goals and objectives and how, support or impedes organizational strategic objectives.
    • When applicable, work with vendor project teams to review, collaborate, and approve project schedules, resources utilization and performance from external service provider or consultancy contracted to execute project activities/delivery.
    • Understands, tracks, anticipate and articulates issues / risks / action items; work with responsible owners to address items on a timely basis; update appropriate stakeholders as needed.
    • Direct, manage and coordinate activities of project resources to ensure projects progress on schedule and within budget.
    • Champion technical and operational excellence, bridging gaps in processes, documenting operational processes, etc. as required to support project activities and subsequent introduction of operational activities.
    • Create, update, and present project statuses regularly to IT Leadership and based on project stakeholder requirements for each project assigned.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group, IT leadership, developers, product owners, and subject matter experts.
    • Possesses and maintains a high-level understanding in the areas of IT Infrastructure and Operations (including but not limited to: Server Management, Telephone Systems, Security Management, Application Development, etc.)
    • Provide leadership and motivation to project team members throughout the project life cycle.
    • Act as a coach to junior project managers, project resources, executives and others who require assistance and advice regarding project management practices.
    • Provide process improvement recommendations based on best practices and industry standards.
    • Work with IT PMO Lead and Team to develop and mature the PMO processes, procedures, workflows, and best practices.
    • Hybrid (WFH/Remote - Monday and Friday) & (In Office - Tuesday thru Thursday)

    Required Experience

    EDUCATION & WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

    • Bachelor’s degree in business information systems (IS), computer science or related field, or equivalent-related IT experience. MBA in IS or other master’s degree preferred.
    • 7 – 10 years of Project Management experience
    • Project Management accreditation (PMP, CAPM, PPM, MPM, etc.)
    • IT accreditation (GISF, MCSE, CompTIA, ITF+, etc.), desired but not required
