    Job Description:

    · Provide understanding of aircraft structures, flight control surfaces/systems, mechanical and avionics subsystems to evaluate an aircraft integration approach and ensure the viability of the weapon system design and ability to meet airworthiness and performance requirements.

    · Provide technical input on aircraft aerodynamic design and performance as a result of required modifications and integration of mission equipment.

    · Assist with the evaluation the Engineering and Manufacturing Development (EMD) contractor's design and assess that missionized aircraft will meet aircraft-related Systems Requirements Document (SRD) requirements.

    · Evaluate and assess the EMD contractor's design and deliverables meet aircraft related PWS/SOW requirements.

    · Manage Size, Power, Cooling, and Weight and Balance designs.

    · Support test planning and execution and review of associated documents

    · Coordinate with other IPTs to ensure aircraft system/subsystems are adequate to meet requirements.

    · Support the development and implementation of a program office OSS&E process.

    · Develop and implement program office Operation Instructions, as required.

    · Support the development of program sustainment strategy.

    · Identify and manage Diminishing Manufacturers Source issues.

    · Provide expertise in aircraft structures, subsystems, and mechanical systems to ensure the viability of the weapon system design and aircraft's ability to meet performance requirements related to aircraft environmental control systems, aircraft auxiliary/emergency power systems, aerial refueling system, aircraft hydraulic-pneumatic systems and aircraft electrical systems, aircraft subsystems.

    · Assist with efforts to ensure structural dynamic stability design meets requirements and dynamic environment is adequately characterized.

    · Assist with efforts to evaluate material selection processes and ensure they use mature and repeatable processes during the manufacturing / production of aircraft structural components and ensure compliance with MIL-STD-1530.

    · Assist in the evaluation design of the environmental control system, airworthiness of design, and operation of the environmental control system.

    · Assist in the evaluation of the design, operation, and airworthiness of the aerial refueling system and maintain knowledge of the Aerial Refueling Certification and Clearance processes.

    · Assist with efforts to evaluate design of the electric power and wiring system and airworthiness of design and operation of the electric power and wiring system Evaluate design of the mechanical systems and airworthiness of design and operation of mechanical systems and subsystems IAW MIL-STD-1798C.

    · Understand and apply MIL-HDBK-516C Airworthiness Certification Criteria , to aircraft systems and subsystems.

    · Understand and execute Air Force Policy Directive (AFPD) 62-6, USAF Airworthiness , associated AFIs and Airworthiness Bulletins through standardized processes and issuance of flight authorizations.

    · Support the System Integrity Programs including Mechanical Systems Integrity Program (MECSIP), assist in maintaining and updating the Critical Safety Item (CSI) list, and monitor airworthiness certification for mission partner aircraft.

    · Assist in translating user requirements into weapons system requirements used to design, develop, fabricate, test and evaluate weapons systems, subsystems and equipment for eventual fielding and deployment.

    · Assist with the development of requirements and technology needs into action plans and policies necessary to improve and retain world class manufacturing, operations, re-manufacturing, and de-militarization/disposal of weapon system capabilities within the USAF.

    · Assist in performing technical/mission analyses of existing and future operational requirements, assist in developing system concepts and perform technological/trade-off assessments of proposed designs/modifications.

    · Assist in providing rapid response engineering service and support as augmentation to organic resources through in-depth problem identification, impact assessment, and development of corrective actions for critical supportability problems.

    · Support and assist in conducting the system safety engineering program, including mishap risk assessments; evaluating contractor safety proposals and safety analyses; evaluating safety concerns of using and support commands; and assisting with resolution of high priority safety issues.

    · Assist in performing material solution analyses leading up to design reviews.

    · Assist in producing or supporting development of draft documentation and presentation materials as requested or necessitated by programmatic limits based on cost, schedule, and performance.

    · Assist in milestone preparation as well as engineering evaluation of OEM and subcontractor recommendations for operational and support issues such as: evaluations of Advance Change Study Notices, ECPs, Contractor Change Proposals, FAA bulletins, and related documents.

    · Assist in analyzing equipment and software deficiencies; make recommendations for equipment and software deficiency corrections; and assist in developing, integrating, and testing equipment and software deficiency solutions.

    · Assist in generating and managing configuration management, data management, and risk management processes and plans; support environmental assessments, support design reviews, TIMs, interface control meetings, program management reviews, audits and other technical reviews; and have thorough knowledge of DR procedures and processes.

    · Assist the USG in the performance of disciplined engineering activities to assure OSS&E for all products. The Contractor shall follow the Life Cycle Systems Engineering (LCSE) and OSS&E related AFIs and all lower-level supplements and related documents including applicable OIs.

    · Assist in milestone preparation as well as engineering evaluation of OEM and subcontractor recommendations for operational and support issues such as: evaluations of Advance Change Study Notices, ECPs, Contractor Change Proposals, FAA bulletins, and related documents.

    Required Experience:

    • Bachelor’s degree in an ABET accredited engineering discipline, and ten (10) years of experience in the respective technical/professional discipline being performed, three (3) of which must be in the DoD.
    • U.S. Citizenship required; Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance;
    • Demonstrate proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and Teams), & Adobe Acrobat
    • Understanding of aircraft structures, flight control surfaces/systems, mechanical and avionics subsystems to evaluate an aircraft integration approach
    • Ability to assist in producing and/or reviewing technical evaluations, engineering studies, reports, analyses, and acquisition plans and strategies.
