  • Responsibilities

     

    Job specifications are intended to present a descriptive list of the range of duties performed by employees.  Specifications are not intended to reflect all duties performed within the job.

     

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

     

    -Inspects, inventories, and issues facilities to arriving units on North Fort Hood

    -Inspects and clears facilities assigned to units as they depart NFH

    -Inspects facilities; submits work orders as necessary for maintenance of facilities, checks repairs made to facilities

    • Non-standard hours of operation will be required, including shift work, nights and weekends.

    • Will serve alone as a Charge of Quarters (CQ) after hours to respond to requirements and emergencies.  Will maintain a duty log (DA From 1594) and report critical events and incidents in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures and special instructions.

    -Conducts annual Installation Status Report (ISR) inspections of NFH facilities

    -Conducts periodic inspections of occupied/assigned facilities to ensure occupants maintain the property and buildings in acceptable order/condition

    -Performs various administrative duties including providing tours to visiting units, answering phones, maintaining files, and monitoring work orders

    • Maintains the master key for the barracks.

    • Performs periodic issue key accountability. Initiate Statement of Charges

     

     

    NON-ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

     

    -Performs other duties as assigned

     

    QUALIFICATIONS 

    Education and Experience

     

    -High school diploma or equivalent preferred

    -Must be able to type 40 wpm

    -Proficiency using Microsoft Office and Outlook

    -Must have general knowledge/ability in minor facility repairs/maintenance

     

     

    Skills, Knowledge and Abilities

     

    -Excellent personal communication skills

    -Must have valid state driver’s license and be able to maintain post driving privileges

    • 2 years prior military experience as Platoon sergeant or higher preferred

    • Must have basic computer skills, able to operate email, and Microsoft Office programs

    -Must be able obtain/maintain Common Access Card and a Fort Hood Non-secure Internet protocol Router (NIPR) account

    -Ability to prioritize work, complete multiple tasks, and work under deadlines

    -Must be able to devise steps necessary to complete tasks

    -Ability to read, write, and understand English

    Must have the ability to work indoors or outdoors in bad weather. Must be able to stand for long periods of time, stoop down and lift and carry ion excess of 50 pounds on a regular basis.  Must possess: visual acuity to review written documentation; ability to hear and understand speech at normal room levels and on the telephone; and the manual dexterity to operate hand tools.

    Job is performed indoors and outdoors.  Will be exposed to prevailing weather conditions at the time.  May be exposed to inclement/extreme weather conditions.  The noise level in the work environment may vary from moderate to high, depending on location.

    ADDITIONAL QUALIFYING FACTORS: 

     

    Reliable transportation to/from work a necessity and must be able to obtain access to military installations.  As a condition of employment, must have acceptable background check results and pass a pre-employment drug screening. This position may be subject to random drug and/or alcohol testing on an unannounced basis.
