  • Responsibilities

    Seeking Cloud Specialist/Architect with background in networking, engineering, and DevSecOps integration to help with modernizing Cloud and DevSecOps principles & practices for a large government enterprise environment.

    *Principal Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions):

    • Provide expertise in building a secure automation cloud environment
    • Analyze current cloud architecture and design practices and methods
    • Research effective and efficient cloud technologies
    • Assist with the transfer of data to the cloud architecture and implementation of the conditioning strategy and architecture
    • Assist with the design and deployment of failover solutions and COOP strategies for mission essential applications, network integration and Cloud connectivity of public and private environments
    • Ensure that functional, performance, and security requirements are satisfied
    • Research, evaluate, and recommend cloud migration tools and technologies to automate build, deployment, and operation of the cloud operation and development environment and activities
    • Perform technical analysis and evaluation to assist with architecture designs, prioritization, coordination, and communication of the security technologies necessary to ensure a highly secure yet usable Cloud computing environment
    • Provide cloud security guidance across the IT life cycle, including security architectural reviews, which align with DoD and MDA policies and contribute to the development and implementation of security technology solutions
    • Analyze business/mission impacts and exposures based on emerging cloud security threats, vulnerabilities and risks, and recommend technologies, processes, and solutions to mitigate
    • Assess and research the potential use of development and/or management tools with the purpose of improving efficiency and streamlining operations
    • Participate in designing, planning, and deployment of solutions for the modern enterprise to include:

    o Application & infrastructure monitoring

    o Continuous Integration & Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines

    o Providing technical security input at project inception

    o Platform management and capacity planning

    • Engage in cybersecurity planning and acquisition including reviewing and analyzing plans, agreements, budgets, and schedules
    • Collaborate with Engineering, Infrastructure Services, and Application Development contractor teams to choose appropriate technology solutions and ensure cybersecurity is integrated into all solutions
    • Provide cybersecurity engineering support to validate secure systems to detect and report security weakness
    • Evaluate information systems security plans and procedures and provide recommendations for improvements
    • Participate in the assessment and implementation of cybersecurity engineering designs in hardware, software, data, and procedures
    • Support secure systems operations and maintenance
    • Coordinate with subcontractors regarding compliance to program cybersecurity requirements
    • Apply understanding of cybersecurity concepts, practices, and tools to administer cybersecurity efforts for MDA networks and information systems

    Required Skills

    Required Experience

    • Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent experience
    • Minimum of 7 years total related experience
    • Background in networking, engineering, and DevSecOps integration
    • Active DoD SECRET security clearance; US citizenship required
    • Demonstrated operational support experience and attention to detail
    • Ability to quickly and accurately process multiple assignments with aggressive timelines in a fast paced environment
    • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office products
    • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
    • Ability to work independently with minimal direction; self-starter and self-motivated
    • Knowledge of IP-based network devices and interconnections

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Experience working with AWS or Azure
    • Knowledge of data retention and security best practices
    • Experience deploying cloud infrastructure in production
    • Experience supporting and expanding production networks
    • Experience with common CI/CD pipeline build automation tools
    • Experience with containerization platforms and container orchestration
    • Knowledgeable of zero trust networking principles
    • Familiar with NIST Risk Management Framework
    • Familiar with Department of Defense Architecture Framework (DoDAF) and Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL)
    • DoD 8570 Level II Certification or above
    • Knowledge of network devices and interconnections
    • Technical experience in identifying and mitigating and/or remediating vulnerabilities
