The Dispatcher performs a variety of duties, including typing, filing, answering phones, receiving and communicating information and performing other technical and administrative functions in an active office setting. The primary goal of the dispatcher is to receive information from a variety of sources, and to provide that information to drivers in a timely and efficient manner.

Essential Functions

Dispatch all transit routes.

Treat all drivers fairly. Know that the driver is the image the customer has of STS.

Remain polite on the phone and ask for assistance in difficult matters. Make no statements that will directly or indirectly affect STS policies.

Education And / Or Experience

High School Diploma or equivalent

Experience in good public relations

Experience with a Microsoft Windows operating system

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Knowledge of Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office software products

Excellent telephone and two way radio communication skills

Excellent customer service skills

Ability to read and interpret documents

Ability to speak effectively with management as well as internal and external customers

Ability to quickly learn software programs

Possess a functional knowledge of the demographics of the service area

Follow STS safety and operational rules and procedure
