    Job Description

    A Joint Interest Billing (JIB) Accountant is responsible for the financial management of oil and gas exploration and production projects. The JIB accountant performs a variety of accounting functions including tracking and reconciling joint venture expenses, preparing joint interest billing statements, and providing financial analysis and reporting to management. The JIB Accountant must have experience with using the software PakEnergy, formerly Wolfepak.

    ** Responsibilities include:**

    • Process monthly JIB statements and ensure accurate, timely billing
    • Account for oil and gas operations costs on operated properties
    • Record overhead and management fee entries
    • Enter Authority for Expenditures (AFE) in the accounting system
    • Enter new vendors, operators, properties within the accounting system
    • Communicate with joint venture partners regarding billing and payment issues and resolve any disputes in a timely manner.
    • Enter new billing and revenue division orders within the accounting system.
    • Accurate and timely preparation of financial reports in A/P, A/R, month-end closing and preparation of books for CPA
    • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal controls related to JIB accounting.
    • Work with land department to setup and maintain revenue division orders.
    • Bookkeeping for several entities
    • Accurate and tracking of multiple investment accounts
    • Prepare bank deposits and organize and file transaction documents
    • Bank reconciliations
    • Timely management of email inbox.
    • Provide support for special projects and perform other duties as assigned.

    ** Requirements:**

    • PakEnergy (formerly WolfePak) Oil and Gas Accounting Software preferred by not required
    • Ability to maintain a positive/flexible attitude in a fast-paced, teamwork environment.
    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or equivalent experience is preferred but not required
    • EnergyLink experience, preferred but not required.
    • Minimum of 1 year of experience in oil and gas, preferably in JIB accounting.
    • Proficient in QuickBooks and MS Excel
    • Ability to prioritize, multi-task, and work independently as well as collaboratively within team
    • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
    • Must be able to handle a items deemed urgent
    • Proficient in communicating to a wide range of audiences in both written and oral form

    Salary commensurate with level of experience.
