Architectural Designer/Draftsperson Jon Jang Architect - Redwood City, CA Part-time This is an opportunity to join our residential practice which has been established on the mid-peninsula for over three decades and is well-known in the communities we serve. Ours is small 2-3 person firm at our studio in downtown Redwood City. Qualifications & requirements include: * An accredited professional architecture degree: B.Arch or M.Arch. * 3 - 7 years of experience with an architectural firm, preferably including high-end residential projects. * Experience with either client, contractor or consultant interactions. * Proficiency in AutoCAD, and Sketch-up a plus. * A great design sensibility and a strong portfolio including construction drawings. Familiarity with wood frame, Type V construction techniques and detailing. * Strong organization and communication skills, attention to detail and the ability to manage ones own time. The position will require a solid knowledge and experience in CAD drafting, and ability to assemble a production submittal/construction drawing set. All work will have review and supervision of staff, but we value someone who can grow to need limited supervision. Tasks will include: * Schematic design and design development drafting & coordination * Submittal and CAD document production including detail drawings * Assisting project architects to verify and review of architectural designs and detailed code and regulatory compliance under the supervision of a senior / project architect * The ability to read and interpret architectural, structural and civil drawings * Must be proficient in AutoCAD * Working remotely is a possibility, but must have own work space, equipment, and software license to program/s listed above and be available for periodic face-to-face meetings.
