    We are looking for a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) to join our team!

    Jones & Company CPAs PA is a well-established and growing small firm located in New Port Richey, FL. The hours of operation change during the year. We pride ourselves on building strong client relationships and helping businesses thrive. During off season, the workweek is 38 hours per week and during the summer the office is closed on Fridays. During tax season, additional hours are required including Saturdays, and it ranges about 45 to 55 hours per week.

    Responsibilities:

    • Prepare and examine accounting records, financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.

    • Develop and analyze reporting for business operations and budgets

    • Manage payroll processes, including calculating employee wages, taxes, and benefits, payroll preparation and review

    • Perform general ledger accounting tasks, such as journal entries and account reconciliations

    • Create new processes to improve financial efficiency

    • Prepare and review sales tax reports

    • Prepare 1040, 1065, 1120, 1120S, 990 tax returns

    • Communicate with clients on a friendly and professional demeanor

    • Liaise with IRS to help clients with issues

    • Monitor bookkeeping activities regularly

    • Keep client financial information confidential

    Qualifications:

    • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license required
    • Experience in financial statement preparation and analysis
    • Fundamental knowledge of GAAP
    • Experience with current computer accounting programs and reporting tools (e.g., QuickBooks, UltraTax, Accounting CS, Fixed Assets, MS Excel)
    • Detail and deadline-oriented
    • Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies in financial data
    • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
