The Role

The Journeyman at Found Rental Co. is a highly skilled artisan and a critical contributor to our fabrication and restoration operations. This role supports the repair, refinishing, and creation of premium furniture and décor while upholding Found’s exacting craftsmanship and safety standards.

As a bridge between apprentices and master craftsmen, the Journeyman plays a vital role in production execution, workshop organization, and daily workflow. This role is ideal for a motivated builder who thrives in a collaborative environment, takes pride in precision work, and is passionate about advancing their craft.

Key responsibilities:

CRAFTSMANSHIP & BUILD EXECUTION

• Assist in the repair, refinishing, restoration, and construction of furniture and décor using wood, metal, fabric, glass, masonry, and mixed materials
• Cut, shape, and finish materials to precise specifications
• Utilize fasteners, adhesives, welding, and bonding techniques to ensure durable, high-quality builds
• Support custom builds and specialty restoration projects

OPERATIONAL EXCELLENCE

• Safely and effectively operate carpentry, metalworking, welding, and specialty fabrication tools
• Maintain production task boards and communicate job status with warehouse and operations teams
• Support daily production workflows to ensure accuracy and on-time completion

WORKSHOP ORGANIZATION

• Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient fabrication lab
• Support 6S standards and shop audits
• Properly store tools, materials, and works-in-progress

LEADERSHIP & GROWTH

• Support apprentices in developing technical skills and shop best practices
• Provide guidance and mentorship under the direction of senior craftsmenContinue to grow expertise across multiple fabrication disciplines

Qualifications

• Demonstrated passion for craftsmanship and hands-on building
• Advanced knowledge of carpentry, metalworking, welding, finishing, or related trades
• Proficiency with power tools, hand tools, and fabrication equipment
• Strong organizational and time-management skills
• High attention to detail and commitment to premium-quality work
• Ability to follow safety protocols and maintain a safe work environment
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Proactive learner with a growth mindset
