Judit Inc. is building its skilled trades team to support the Dallas VA Medical Center. As a journeyman electrician, you'll maintain and repair the electrical systems that keep a major hospital running — from medical equipment and lighting circuits to switchgear, transformers, and emergency power systems.
What You'll Do
- Maintain and repair a wide range of electrical systems throughout the hospital: motors, HVAC components, alarms, medical and laboratory equipment, and lighting.
- Maintain major utility infrastructure including switchgear, transformers, and emergency power systems.
- Troubleshoot electrical issues using diagnostic instruments.
- Install and modify circuits and conduits.
- Perform preventive maintenance on motors and control equipment.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and the National Electrical Code.
- Work with minimal supervision; may oversee helpers.
- Understand and safely manage the hazards of working with voltages up to 4160 volts AC.
- Work in both indoor and outdoor environments, sometimes in cramped areas or at heights.
- Report daily to the VA COR on tasks performed, preventive maintenance completed, parts replaced, and items needing further attention.
- Complete a daily timecard for all work performed.
What You'll Need
- Active Texas state Electrician license (required — must provide a copy)
- OSHA certification
- Journeyman-level experience maintaining and repairing electrical systems in a commercial, industrial, or healthcare facility
- Physically able to perform frequent physical exertion and heavy lifting, work at heights, and work in cramped or confined spaces
- Comfortable working around electrical shock and burn hazards with appropriate safety precautions

- Arc-rated or natural-fiber long pants and long-sleeve shirt
- OSHA-approved steel-toed work boots (ANSI Z41.1-1967 standard)
- Hearing protection
- Eye protection
Before You Start
- Complete on-site safety and basic VA orientation training before starting work
- Complete VA Cybersecurity Awareness and Rules of Behavior training within your first week, and annually thereafter
- Complete VA privacy training within your first week, and annually thereafter
- Wear a Vendor ID badge (contractor name, personal name, photo) at all times on-site
This position is contingent upon Judit Inc.'s award of the referenced VA contract.
