  • Responsibilities

    Summary/Objective

    The Journeyman Electrician performs assembly operations to produce components or to assemble those components into an environmental test chamber.

    Essential Functions

    1. Bend 1/2 - 1 1/4 Emt conduit
    2. Layout of chamber boxes and conduit runs from blank
    3. Layout of electrical blank or empty panels
    4. Layout and build switch boards and electrical panels per schematics.
    5. Install panels on Environmental Test Chambers including wiring, installation of conduit, wiring up sensors and switches.
    6. Uses test equipment to validate electrical systems for conformity to manufacturing schematics and departmental quality requirements.
    7. Technical diagnostics and troubleshooting of electrical components and systems.
    8. Temporary installation of Environmental Test Chambers for performance testing (connect and disconnect)

    Secondary Functions

    1. Equipment and facilities maintenance of electrical components

    2. Light fabrication

    Required Education and Experience

    1. Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and work instructions.
    2. Math proficiency.
    3. Experience using hand and power tools.
    4. Knowledge of and previous work experience with electrical assembly.
    5. Journeyman license or equivalent on the job experience
    6. Electrical training or certification.

    Preferred Education and Experience

    1. Previous experience as an Electrical Assembler in a similar industry.
    2. Experience working with Programmable Logic Controller (PLC)
    3. High School Diploma or GED

    Climb on and around chambers.

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, bend, and climb.. The employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls and to climb or balance. The employee is required to walk; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; and talk and hear.

    The employee must regularly lift and move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. Employee may occasionally need to work at heights of up to 20 feet.

    Salary: $28.00 to $32.00 per hour
