Join a national brand on the ground floor in Madison

Benjamin Franklin Plumbing — "The Punctual Plumber" — is opening in the greater Madison market, serving Madison, Middleton, Waunakee, Verona, Oregon, and surrounding Dane County communities. We're a locally owned franchise of a 350+ territory location national brand, backed by national-grade systems, training, and marketing, but owned/operated by a Wisconsin owner who lives here.

We are hiring our founding service team. As one of the first journeyman plumbers on the truck, you'll have the rare combination of a startup's growth runway and a national brand's infrastructure. The right candidates here become tomorrow's lead techs, service managers, and master plumber sponsors.

    What you'll do

Diagnose and repair residential plumbing issues: leaks, drains, water heaters, fixtures, sewer lines, gas lines, sump and ejector pumps.

Perform installations and replacements —> water heaters (tank and tankless), repipes, fixture upgrades, water treatment.

Use Straight Forward Pricing on every call; present options and pricing before work begins, so the customer knows what they're getting and what it costs.

Wear floor savers in the home, keep your work area neat, and leave the home as clean as you found it (or cleaner).

Test every aspect of the job before leaving — verify it's actually working — to eliminate avoidable callbacks.

Explain each service performed so the customer understands what was done and why. Aim for 100% customer satisfaction on every job.

Pull permits and complete work to Wisconsin plumbing code (SPS 382/384) under the company's master plumber of record.

Maintain a clean, well-organized van — inside and out — and accurate digital records in ServiceTitan.

Drive safely. Represent the company professionally — uniformed, on-time, courteous, and respectful of customer property.

    What you bring

Wisconsin DSPS Journeyman Plumber license (active, in good standing). Required.

Valid Wisconsin driver's license with an insurable driving record.

3+ years of hands-on plumbing experience; residential service experience strongly preferred.

Comfortable with technology — smartphone, tablet, dispatch software, digital invoicing.

Customer-first mindset. You can explain plumbing to a homeowner without making them feel small.

Ability to lift 50+ lbs, work in tight crawl spaces and attics, and pass a background check.

    What you get

Competitive salary base pay plus performance pay (spiffs and bonuses).

Fully stocked, company van. No more loading and unloading your own truck.

Health, dental, and vision insurance. Paid time off. Paid holidays.

Ongoing paid training — manufacturer certifications, code updates, and a clear path toward your master plumber credential if that's your goal.

Uniforms provided. Tools provided beyond your personal hand tools.

    Stable, year-round work in a recession-resistant trade.

    How to apply

Send your resume and a brief note about your experience. Phone screens within 48 hours of application. Serious inquiries only — Wisconsin journeyman license is required and will be verified through DSPS.

Equal Opportunity Employer. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, or any other protected class.
