    Job Summary Blue Mountain Mechanical, a leading mechanical contractor in Olympia, WA, is seeking a skilled and licensed Journeyman Plumber to support a variety of commercial and industrial plumbing projects. This role is critical to delivering high-quality mechanical systems for private, federal, county, and state clients.     Pay range: $50–$60 per hour DOE Compensation: 90% of work falls under prevailing wage/Davis-Bacon, with all wages and fringe benefits distributed weekly on your paycheck.

    Responsibilities

    Install, maintain, and repair commercial plumbing systems, including:

    Domestic water distribution

    Drain, waste, and vent (DWV) systems

    Natural gas, LP gas, and medical gas (if certified)

    Interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine project layout and scope

    Cut, assemble, and install piping using copper, PVC, steel, and other materials

    Troubleshoot and resolve plumbing issues in compliance with Washington State and local codes

    Apply working knowledge of IPC and UPC (bonus if experienced)

    Coordinate with HVAC teams, project managers, and general contractors on mechanical system installations

    Assist in mentoring apprentices and junior technicians

    Accurately document time, labor, and materials on job sites

    Adhere to safety protocols and participate in company-provided training

    Qualifications

    Washington State Journeyman Plumber (PL01) License

    1–3 years of experience in commercial or mechanical plumbing (residential-to-commercial transitions welcome)

    Ability to read and interpret blueprints and piping schematics

    Familiarity with federal and public works plumbing standards preferred

    Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license

    Ability to pass a federal background check for work on military installations

    Enhanced driver’s license or valid passport required

    Able to lift 50+ lbs and work safely at heights or in confined spaces

    OSHA 10 or 30 and CPR certification a plus
