    OVERVIEW:

    The Commerce Department seeks a highly motivated and detail-oriented Administrative Consultant to join the Workforce Training team in support of the PHL Taking Care of Business (TCB) commercial corridor cleaning program. The workforce training aspect is designed to provide professional development training to Cleaning Ambassadors employed by contracted Community Development Corporations (CDCs) and sub-contractors (small, local for-profit businesses). TCB Workforce Training activities seek to ensure that: 1. All Cleaning Ambassadors have the training and support to be successful in performing their job responsibilities, and 2. TCB Cleaning Ambassadors receive work experience and workforce training that enables them to be successful in their current role as Cleaning Ambassadors and as they move to new job opportunities.

    JOB DESCRIPTION AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    The Administrative Consultant would be responsible for tracking data and personnel, researching for event locations, managing calendar events, and collaborating with other Workforce Team members.

    The ideal consultant is highly organized, detail-oriented, and interested in the human aspect of data and systems organization. This candidate works well as a professional part of a fast-paced team and can understand the nuances of collaborative work.

    The Independent Contractor position works closely with staff in the Commerce Department and will provide the following services:

    • Attend regular meetings of the TCB program team, typically 1.5 hours per week, but could vary.
    • Manage and organize calendar events pertaining to program trainings and celebrations
    • Track program participants
    • Track training participation
    • Research for the TCB Newsletter
    • Research locations for events and trainings
    • Collaborate on workforce training topics, including:
      a. Training goals
      b. Event types
      c. Workshop ideas
      d. Training best practices

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Associate or bachelor’s degree in human resources, data and systems management, geography, sociology, or a related discipline from an accredited institution; significant related work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
    • Minimum of two years of experience doing administrative work, program coordination, or related experience.
    • Strong experience in any of the following areas: data organization, scheduling,
      administrative tasks, education.
    • Experience consulting with and/or supporting community-based organizations or small businesses.
    • Strong experience utilizing technology to document information and create reports, i.e. online software, databases, and/or the Microsoft Suite.
    • Experience working with and/or serving diverse populations.
    • Proficiency utilizing the Microsoft Suite, Internet, digital calendar systems, and virtual learning systems.
    • Proficiency tracking data over elongated timelines.

    COMPENSATION:

    $25/hour
