JOB DESCRIPTION AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Lead and supervise a team of coding professionals, providing mentorship, guidance, and support to ensure productivity and quality standards are met.
• Coordinate coding projects, including assigning tasks, setting priorities, and establishing timelines to ensure timely completion.
• Review and evaluate coded data for accuracy, consistency, and compliance with coding guidelines and industry regulations.
• Develop and implement coding policies, procedures, and best practices to optimize coding processes and efficiency.
• Provide ongoing training and professional development opportunities to coding team members to enhance their skills and knowledge.
• Serve as a subject matter expert on coding practices, guidelines, and regulations, keeping abreast of industry changes and updates.
• Monitor coding performance metrics and prepare regular reports for management to track productivity, accuracy, and compliance.
• Participate in meetings, committees, and projects as assigned, representing the coding team and contributing expertise and insights.
• Foster a positive and collaborative work environment that encourages teamwork, communication, and continuous improvement.
  

REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor's degree in Health Information Management, Computer Science, etc. or equivalent work experience.
• Inpatient and Outpatient experience
• Certified Coding Specialist (CCS), Certified Professional Coder (CPC), or similar coding certification required.
• Proven experience in medical coding, software coding, or related field, with at least [Insert Number] years of experience.
• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively lead and motivate a team.
• Excellent understanding of coding guidelines, regulations, and best practices.
• Proficiency in coding software and tools, as well as Microsoft Office Suite.
• Exceptional attention to detail and analytical skills, with the ability to review and evaluate coded data accurately.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and effectively.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.

COMPENSATION:

$35/hour
