STATUS: Part-Time - 16 hours per week

WHAT WILL I DO IN THIS ROLE WITH SOUTH FRANKLIN CIRCLE?

As a COMMUNITY LIFE ASSISTANT, supporting our mission will include the following responsibilities:

• Work closely with Programming Department and interdisciplinary teams to plan, deliver, and coordinate programs that meet the Departmental guidelines for Assisted Living programming.
• Assist with evaluating and adapting programming on an ongoing basis to ensure that the programming schedule is creative, efficient, and reflective of the members' need and interests
• Help to facilitate spontaneity of members, staff, family, and community in order to create a homelike environment.
• Interact and collaborate with all relevant support departments (Dining Services, Environmental Services, and Housekeeping) affected by the activities designed, and give advance notice of interdepartmental functions. Work closely with staff to include them in the provision of activities that occur during assigned shifts.
• May assist with creating/posting weekly calendars on the units for members, staff and families.
• Participate in regularly scheduled meetings such as Departmental, status reviews, goal setting and ad hoc meetings as necessary.

WHAT DO I NEED FOR THIS ROLE WITH SOUTH FRANKLIN CIRCLE?

• A minimum of 2-3 years' closely related experience working with older adults required.
• Strong organizational and communication skills, as well as basic computer literacy required.
• Ability to stand for long periods of time and lift/move equipment to assist individuals using wheelchairs & walkers required.
