    JUDSON SENIOR LIVING in Cleveland, Ohio is seeking a VICE PRESIDENT OF HUMAN RESOURCES.

    This position is located at our JUDSON PARK location, nestled in the tranquil, tree-lined streets of Cleveland Heights.

    WHAT WILL I DO IN THIS ROLE WITH JUDSON?

    As a VICE PRESIDENT OF HUMAN RESOURCES, supporting the Judson mission will include the following responsibilities:

    • Contribute to and support the annual strategic plan. Create, review and recommend to senior management for additions to and improvement of company policies, procedures, and practices on personnel matters.
    • Function as management defining Human Resources role in creating a progressive, dynamic and safe environment for all associates.
    • Develop systems and procedures designed to positively enhance the day-to-day performance, contribution and long term employment of all associates. Be an advocate in supporting "Total Customer Care" throughout the Judson Smart Living enterprise, and community.
    • Analysis and review of benefits. Negotiate various benefit plans (403B and Health Insurance) and propose cost effective alternatives; direct the administration and communication of employee benefit plans to all associates.
    • Develop, implement and maintain various personnel policies. Comply with all federal, state and local employment laws and regulations; ensure equitable administration & communication of personnel policies.
    • Contribute to the design and implementation of pay for performance programs. Administer and update the salary administration plan including employee performance evaluation program, merit increase program, job evaluation/scoring, skill levels, salary scale, etc.
    • Assures compliance with laws, government regulations and reporting requirements effecting Human Resources functions (i.e. EEO, FLSA, NLRA, OSHA, background verifications).
    • Represents the organization in contract negotiations in conjunction with other appropriate vice presidents, and outside counsel. Prepares analyses and data for use in negotiations comparing compensation, benefits and other pertinent information with other long-term car/healthcare related organizations, in Northeast Ohio.
    • Represents the organization in negotiations, hearings or administrative procedures relative to Human Resources and bargaining unit agreement issues.
    • Selects, recommends, and or coordinates the use of all Human Resources consultants, Insurance carriers, training specialists and legal counsel.
    • Direct all placement, promotion, internal and external recruiting activities ensuring equitable administration of hiring/transfer/promotion policies and compliance with all employment laws and regulations. Process all new employees and all change-of-status forms. Conduct orientation & onboarding programs.
    • Counsel employees on job-related problems, administer appropriate disciplinary and grievance procedures ensuring compliance with all employment laws and regulations; investigate complaints and take appropriate remedial action. Conduct exit interviews. Provide public information such as verifying employment.
    • Spearhead programs targeted at succession planning. Counsel management on organizational development and staffing needs; participate in annual planning function by developing, proposing and implementing appropriate human resources plans.
    • Direct the development and implementation of in-house training programs and key employee development programs; provide counsel to employees on career planning and continuing educational needs. Implement and ensure training is happening such as Handbook Training, Sexual Harassment Training, and Safety Training.
    • Oversee maintenance of personnel records and statistics, complete necessary reports.
    • Update employee handbook reflecting changes in Judson policies and regulations.
    • Manage the day-to-day operations staff and budget of the department; evaluate staff performance; determine organization and resource needs of the department.

    WHAT DO I NEED FOR THIS ROLE WITH JUDSON?

    • A BS/BA in Business, or a related field. (MBA and HR certifications a plus).
    • Minimum of 10 - 15 years progressive experience with increasing responsibility in general Human Resources management within industry, with a preference toward a service business, with a healthcare orientation.
    • Strong working knowledge of benefits, compensation, employment, training, organizational development, HRIS and compliance.
    • Experience working with an organized work force; building relationships, handling grievances, establishing work rules/guidelines, and with support negotiating contracts.
    • Demonstrated experience in building a strong internal recruiting model.
    • Broad technical background in analysis, design and implementation of programs & procedures within the Human Resources community.
