Jump The Fence @ NRG Program:

• We are actively seeking career-minded, team focused, hard-working individuals, who are interested in building a career in the energy industry, to join the Jump the Fence program at NRG Energy.

• Take part in a 6-month, comprehensive training program in-person at NRG’s Princeton, NJ headquarters.
• Highly competitive salary, signing bonus, quarterly bonuses, travel stipend and housing provided in Houston, TX by JTFR during the 6-month training period.
• You will be employed by JTFR for the initial 6-month period and then have the opportunity to Jump the Fence to a full time position with NRG Energy. Once you jump the fence to NRG, you will be fully employed by NRG.

Retail Credit Analyst Role:

The successful candidate will be responsible for a variety of portfolio management and trading initiatives for the East Power Desk. Specifically, the position will be responsible for assisting in the modeling and analytics associated with the FTR portfolio; the pricing and analysis of power positions; assisting sales and pricing teams with modeling and market information, and pricing and modelling of structured deals with Origination. The East Power Team is looking for a highly motivated individual to join the team and support commercial operations in the FTRs and across all ISOs.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

• Assist with the management of short-term and long-term FTR positions as well as related tasks (marking curves, scalars…etc)
• Assist with NRG asset and HRCO hedging strategies
• Develop comprehensive models to analyze commodity markets, price new business opportunities and advise customers
• Assist Regulatory and Compliance Teams as required to ensure a prompt and comprehensive response to regulatory developments as well as timely compliance to existing regulations
• Provide research as needed to identify possible strategic business opportunities
• Support NRG’s retail customer business as required

Minimum Requirements:

• Undergraduate degree, preferably in mathematics, engineering, or other quantitative field from an accredited college or university
• Strong spreadsheet, programming, and presentation skills
• Strong analytical skills with strong IT and/or data management skills
• Statistical proficiency

Preferred Qualifications:

• Proficient coder of SQL, and an object-oriented programming language (Ruby, Python, VBA)
