Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Junior Accountant to support our team with tax preparation, bookkeeping, and client accounting services. This role is ideal for an accounting professional seeking flexible, part-time hours in a public accounting environment.
Key Responsibilities
Assist with firm accounts receivable and accounts payable
Perform bookkeeping and general ledger maintenance for client accounts
Reconcile bank and credit card statements
Prepare journal entries and supporting workpapers
Assist with month-end and year-end close processes
Communicate with clients to request documentation and clarify information
Assist senior accountants and partners with special projects
Assist with preparation of individual and business tax returns
Qualifications
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (or currently pursuing degree)
1–2 years of accounting or bookkeeping experience preferred (public accounting experience a plus)
Familiarity with tax preparation and accounting software
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to manage multiple deadlines, especially during tax season
Professional communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with QuickBooks (Online and Desktop)
Experience preparing individual (1040) and small business returns
