Junior Accountant
Our client, a private family office, is seeking a junior accountant to join their growing team. This position is responsible for managing day-to-day functions related to accounts payable, expense reporting, general ledger reconciliations, and other essential accounting activities.
Responsibilities
- Overseeing the end-to-end vendor payment workflow, including receipt, review, processing, and disbursement of invoices.
- Duties include vendor onboarding, W-9 collection, and performing IRS verifications.
- Evaluating invoices for accuracy, proper documentation, and necessary authorizations.
- Maintaining organized records and support files related to all invoice transactions.
- Coordinating with internal stakeholders and managers to obtain approvals and address follow-up inquiries.
- Handling inquiries from vendors and internal teams in a timely and professional manner.
- Identifying opportunities to enhance efficiency and streamline processes where applicable.
- Managing daily and monthly accounting tasks such as invoice entry, posting journal entries, reconciling accounts, reviewing and processing expense reports, and contributing to month- and quarter-end close activities.
- Communicating with external entities, including vendors, financial institutions, and other third parties.
- Providing assistance with the compilation of annual tax documentation used in the preparation of tax filings.
- Supporting various ad hoc projects and special requests as needed.
Requirements
- 0-2 years of accounting experience preferably coming from a financial institution.
- Bachelors degree in accounting or related field preferred.
