Summary:
The Workforce Development Program Manager manages the JA Career Bound program which educates and prepares high school students for the first chapter of their careers. The program Manager uses JA curriculum to teach a variety of essential career skills, the students visiting local business to hear from inspiring professionals, working on a business case challenge to solve real-world problems, and culminating in a paid summer internship.
You must be passionate about JA’s mission and inspiring our students to reach their full potential. As Manager you must build strong relationships with school administrators and guidance counselors, students, business leaders and volunteers, while also leading groups of high school students' monthly during the school year. This position reports to the Director of Workforce Development
What you will do:
· Ensure the success of all aspects of the JA Career Bound program, including:
Manage the program budget.
Develop and implement a plan for annual recruitment of students throughout the school year.
Develop and maintain relationships with educators and administrators.
Secure companies to host industry-focused program days.
Assure program quality through each program day through monitoring, service, and support.
Design, administer, collect, and analyze program evaluations, surveys, and pre/post-tests.
Prepare and provide program materials, feedback, and resources to students and volunteers.
Organize and implement teacher, volunteer, mentor, and staff trainings.
Teach JA Career Bound curriculum with innovation, creativity, and engaging content.
Manage Career Bound Canvas course.
Identify and cultivate new corporate connections, guest speakers and mentors.
Plan and organize all program days, working with host sponsors and internal team members who oversee logistics, including transportation, food, and beverage needs.
Ensure JA Career Bound students represent JA in a professional manner.
Plan, organize, and implement all JA Career Bound program student retreats, and graduations,
Identify student participants to serve as JA Career Bound Ambassadors.
Update Marketing to increase awareness of program, share successes and increase recruitment.
Enhance and improve the JA Career Bound programs through student and volunteer feedback.
Work with Youth Employment team to assess student’s industry, interests and match them with appropriate internship opportunities.
Identify program gaps and explore ideas for new workforce development programs.
Other duties as assigned.
What you will need:
Bachelor’s degree in education, business, or a related field or equivalent work experience preferred.
Education, nonprofit, or community organization work experience is preferred.
Reliable transportation for local travel will be required to speak to donors, attend conferences and manage program implementation (mileage will be reimbursed).
Experience leading groups of high school students is required.
Strong computer literacy, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint), and Canvas required.
Proven ability to manage programs, complex projects, and people required.

Creativity in designing/identifying fun, leadership, and team-building activities for high school students.
Manage all details of the entire program and meet deadlines.
