    Our firm is seeking a talented associate attorney with 2–5 years of experience with a primary focus on maritime litigation. The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in maritime law and experience with general civil litigation. Strong research, writing, and analytical skills are essential, along with experience in motion practice, discovery, depositions and court appearances. Candidates must be licensed to practice in Louisiana and in good standing. Admission to federal court is preferred. Responsibilities: • Conduct legal research, prepare for and attend hearings and/or other legal proceedings, and provide legal counsel with the help of senior associate attorneys • Collaborate with clients and senior associates and other staff to move cases toward resolution efficiently • Draft documents such as correspondence, pleadings, motions, briefs, affidavits, settlement agreements, and contracts to be used proceedings and contract negotiations • Keep files organized to make sure the most recent updates are accessible to other attorneys, paralegals, and staff • Review client issues on legal matters, analyze available options, and diligently work to determine the best course of action Qualifications: • Applicants must have successfully passed the state bar exam • Ability to work with senior attorneys to best serve client needs and grow our client base • Member in good standing and actively involved with the ABA (American Bar Association) • Effective communication skills and problem-solving skills are necessary to work with all levels of staff and clients • Juris Doctorate (J.D.) degree required from an accredited law school Licensed to practice and in good standing with all Louisiana State and Federal Courts Compensation: $80,000 - $98,500 yearly
