We are seeking a motivated, proactive, and enthusiastic Junior Business Development Analyst to join our growing team. This entry-level position is ideal for someone eager to jumpstart their career in business development, market analysis, and strategic planning. You’ll play a key role in identifying new business opportunities, analyzing market trends, and supporting strategic initiatives that contribute to the company’s growth. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional communication skills and a passion for networking and building relationships within the defense and federal contracting industry. This role involves attending various industry conferences, meetings, and events to build relationships, collaborate with industry partners to pursue contract opportunities, and support the growth of our business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify and analyze new business opportunities within the Department of Defense (DoD) and related Federal agencies
- Conduct market research, competitive analysis, and industry trend monitoring
- Assist in the preparation of proposals, presentations, and marketing materials tailored to potential clients
- Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and meetings to establish and maintain relationships with potential clients, partners, and stakeholders
- Collaborate with internal and external teammates to develop strategies for capturing new contracts and expanding existing ones
- Maintain and update opportunity and prospect databases
- Support senior management on special projects and strategic initiatives
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Information Technology, or a related field. Prior military service/experience will be considered as a substitute for education requirements
- Strong analytical, research, and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, and data analysis tools; experience with CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce) is a plus
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to network effectively and build lasting professional relationships
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management abilities; must be a self-starter capable of working independently with minimal supervision
- Eagerness to learn and grow in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
Preferred (but not required):
- Internship or 1-2 years of previous experience in a business development, strategy, or market research role; experience within the defense industry is a plus
- Familiarity with BI tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) or basic data visualization and Generative AI skills
- Familiarity with DoD procurement processes and contracting vehicles
