Junior Civil Project Manager - Construction - Base Salary to 85k/year - Long Beach, CA
Our client is a self-performing GC that specializes in constructing sports fields throughout Southern California, primarily LA/OC/Inland Empire. Projects can be new construction, field conversions, asphalt paving, irrigation, concrete work, etc., with values ranging from 500k to 15 million. They have been in the business since 1998, and pride themselves on a family-oriented atmosphere that offers the growth opportunities of a large corporation.
In this role, the Junior Civil Project Manager will be leading projects from start to finish, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget and to appropriate standards of quality. The Junior Civil Project Manager are responsible for aligning teams, resources and stakeholders to achieve project goals. The ideal candidate should have experience managing projects and possess a strong desire to learn sports field construction as well as the company’s own methods and systems. As this position involves working within schools and government facilities, the successful candidate must be able to obtain and maintain the required background clearances as mandated by state law/local regulations.
Responsibilities:
Plan and define project scope, objectives, timelines, and deliverables with stakeholders
Bid and estimate on new projects
Develop detailed schedules and budgets
Assemble and lead cross-functional teams, assigning tasks and motivating members
Manage resources, including personnel, vendors, and materials
Monitor daily operations, conduct site visits, and prepare progress reports for stakeholders
Communicate regularly with stakeholders through status reports and updates
Ensure quality control and adherence to standards
Collaborate with architects, engineers, clients and site teams to resolve issues, identify possible changes to scope and quantify changes to contracts
Close projects, including final deliverables, evaluations, and lessons learned
Qualifications:
2+ years experience in construction project management required
Ability to work out of the Signal Hill office, as well as in the field (50/50)
Ability to travel, mostly in LA/OC/Inland Empire but occasionally further out (SD, SB, Palm Springs)

Compensation:
Base salary in the 75k – 85k/year range, plus additional bonus potential
