    Position Overview

    Mortgage Brokers is seeking a motivated, detail-oriented Junior Loan Originator to join our growing team. This role is ideal for someone looking to build a long-term career in mortgage lending while learning directly from experienced originators, processors, and leadership.

    The Junior Loan Originator will support the loan origination process from initial client contact through closing, assist with lead follow-up, gather and review borrower documentation, and develop strong relationships with borrowers, referral partners, and internal team members. This position offers hands-on training, mentorship, and a clear path toward becoming a fully producing Loan Officer.

    Key Responsibilities

    Client & Lead Support

    • Respond promptly to inbound leads, referrals, and client inquiries via phone, email, and CRM platforms.
    • Conduct initial borrower conversations to understand goals, financial profiles, and loan needs.
    • Educate clients on basic mortgage concepts, loan programs, timelines, and next steps.
    • Maintain consistent follow-up with prospects to move applications forward.

    Loan Origination & File Support

    • Assist in taking complete loan applications and ensuring accuracy of borrower information.
    • Collect, review, and organize borrower documentation (income, assets, credit, identification, etc.).
    • Submit complete files to processing and assist with clearing conditions as needed.
    • Work closely with processors, underwriters, and senior loan officers to ensure smooth transactions.
    • Track loan progress and keep borrowers informed throughout the process.

    CRM, Marketing & Relationship Building

    • Log all client interactions and loan updates accurately in the CRM.
    • Assist with database management, lead organization, and follow-up campaigns.
    • Support relationship-building efforts with realtors, attorneys, and other referral partners.
    • Participate in open houses, networking events, and company marketing initiatives when needed.

    Compliance & Professional Standards

    • Follow all company policies, investor guidelines, and regulatory requirements.
    • Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive client information with professionalism.
    • Stay current on basic mortgage guidelines, products, and market updates.

    Qualifications & Skills

    Required

    • NMLS license (or actively in the process of obtaining one, if applicable).
    • Strong communication skills—verbal and written.
    • High attention to detail and strong organizational abilities.
    • Ability to multitask and manage multiple files in a fast-paced environment.
    • Professional demeanor with a client-first mindset.
    • Basic computer proficiency and comfort using CRMs and loan origination systems.

    Preferred

    • Prior experience in mortgage, real estate, banking, sales, or customer service.
    • Familiarity with loan programs such as Conventional, FHA, VA, and USDA.
    • Comfort making outbound calls and following up with leads.
    • Interest in long-term growth as a producing Loan Officer.
