We’re seeking a Junior Mechanical Engineer for a 6-month in-person contract to support design and development of mechanical systems for entertainment attractions. The role involves hands-on work alongside an experienced team, from modeling in SolidWorks to prototype building and testing. This position provides real-world exposure to the full product lifecycle in a collaborative R&D environment focused on safety and innovation.

• Anticipated Compensation: $24–28 per hour (40 hours per week)
• Additional Perks: Mentorship from senior engineers; optional project-site travel; exposure to unique industry applications
• Work Schedule & Location: Fully in-person, North Nashville, TN area; flexible Monday–Friday hours

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in product design and development using SolidWorks
• Support engineering team with drawings, models, and documentation
• Participate in prototype builds, testing, and validation
• Perform basic engineering calculations (loads, materials, factors of safety)
• Help prepare test plans, reports, and technical documentation
• Collaborate with internal teams and vendors
• Assist in evaluating materials, components, and manufacturing processes
• Contribute to maintaining quality and safety standards

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree (or near completion) in Mechanical Engineering or related field
• 0–3 years of experience (internships/co-ops highly valued)
• Basic proficiency in SolidWorks or similar CAD software
• Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills
• Willingness to work hands-on in a shop/lab environment
• Strong communication and ability to collaborate in a team setting

Preferred

• Exposure to FEA or simulation tools
• Familiarity with fabrication, machining, or welding
