    Junior Security Engineer - Endpoint Specialist

    Expression is seeking a mission-driven Endpoint Security Engineer to support the National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA). This individual will play a critical role in ensuring the security and compliance of NTIA systems and endpoints, delivering vulnerability assessments, supporting Certification & Accreditation (C&A) processes, and aligning systems with federal cybersecurity mandates for various information systems. . The position requires technical expertise in endpoint protection, vulnerability management, and secure information systems engineering in federal environments.

    Location and Clearance

    • Boulder, CO
    • Active Secret or Top Secret clearance required (U.S. Citizenship required)

    Responsibilities

    • Assist in the engineering, maintenance, and monitoring of endpoint security solutions to ensure compliance with federal security standards.
    • Perform vulnerability and risk analyses of systems and applications throughout the development life cycle, providing actionable recommendations.
    • Provide technical support for monitoring, patching, and troubleshooting LANs, network devices, and endpoint systems to ensure optimal performance and security.
    • Support the deployment, configuration, and maintenance of endpoint management platforms, including Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM) and IBM BigFix.
    • Manage software deployment, operating system imaging, and patch compliance across enterprise endpoints.
    • Monitor endpoint health and remediate compliance, performance, or configuration issues.
    • Assist with device imaging, provisioning, and lifecycle management for end-user systems.
    • Conduct proactive vulnerability scanning, reporting, and remediation coordination with stakeholders
    • Collaborate with system administrators, cybersecurity staff, and SOC teams to maintain endpoint security baselines and respond to incidents.
    • Support Certification and Accreditation (C&A) activities by preparing documentation, performing assessments, and presenting findings to leadership.
    • Evaluate and integrate hardware, software, and telecommunications solutions to meet organizational and security requirements.
    • Maintain accurate endpoint management and asset inventory records.
    • Develop and update standard operating procedures (SOPs) and technical documentation for configuration, troubleshooting, and patching processes.
    • Deliver courteous, timely, and effective technical support to NTIA users on endpoint-related issues.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent practical experience).
    • Minimum of 2 years of experience in endpoint security engineering, vulnerability management, or related cybersecurity functions.
    • Knowledge of LAN/WAN, endpoint security tools, and network operating systems.
    • Strong understanding of federal cybersecurity compliance requirements.
    • Ability to troubleshoot technical issues and provide timely solutions.
    • Extensive knowledge in various operating systems (e.g. Windows, macOS, Linux and Unix).
    • Excellent communication and documentation skills.

    Preferred Experience

    • Professional certifications such as CompTIA Security+, GSEC (GIAC Security Essentials), Microsoft SC-900 / AZ-500, or AWS Security Certification.
    • Prior experience supporting NTIA, Department of Commerce, or other federal civilian agencies.
    • Familiarity with NIST Cybersecurity Framework, Risk Management Framework (RMF), and C&A processes.
    • Hands-on experience with endpoint detection and response (EDR) tools, SIEM platforms, and vulnerability management systems.
    • Experience preparing technical documentation and presenting remediation strategies to federal leadership.
