Junior Sitework Estimator | Orlando, FL

Perform estimating and preconstruction for turnkey site development projects throughout Central Florida. This is a full-time, in-office estimating role focused on takeoffs, scope review, pricing, and bid preparation rather than combined Estimator/Project Manager responsibilities.

About the Company

• Established heavy civil and site development contractor working throughout Florida and the Southeast
• Core scopes include clearing, earthwork, grading, underground utilities, roadway and site improvements, and related civil construction

What You’ll Do

• Review civil plans, specifications, bid documents, and project requirements to determine the complete scope of work
• Perform earthwork and site development quantity takeoffs using AGTEK, including cut/fill calculations and grading quantities
• Develop labor, equipment, material, subcontractor, and production-cost estimates for clearing, grading, excavation, underground utilities, site concrete, paving, and related civil scopes
• Solicit and review pricing from subcontractors, suppliers, and material vendors
• Identify scope gaps, exclusions, project constraints, access issues, and other factors affecting pricing
• Review construction sequencing, materials, equipment requirements, and installation methods
• Prepare bid proposals, inclusions, exclusions, qualifications, and supporting estimate documentation
• Maintain organized bid files, takeoffs, pricing information, and estimating records
• Coordinate with estimating, preconstruction, operations, and field personnel to deliver complete and accurate bids on time

What We’re Looking For

• 2–5 years of estimating experience in heavy civil construction, commercial site development, earthwork, grading, underground utilities, or closely related work
• Hands-on AGTEK estimating experience required
• Ability to perform accurate quantity takeoffs from civil plans and specifications
• Working knowledge of clearing, mass grading, excavation, storm drainage, sanitary sewer, water, and related sitework scopes
• Strong Excel, Word, and general computer skills
• Ability to manage multiple bids, deadlines, and pricing requirements while coordinating with subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams
• HCSS HeavyBid experience preferred but not required
• Available to work full time in the Orlando-area office, with local candidates preferred
