Qualifications
- 2-4 years of recruiting experience is ideal.
- Sourcing-only is acceptable - this does not need to be a seasoned full-cycle closer.
- “Lighter” experience can work if shown strong general cognitive ability , clear learning velocity, and real passion for recruiting + tech.
Core requirement: engineering hiring exposure
- Must have experience hiring or sourcing engineers (software preferred; adjacent technical roles acceptable if the candidate can translate).
- Ability to quickly learn role requirements and identify signal in resumes/LinkedIn profiles (titles, scope, tech stack indicators, project impact, progression).
- Backgrounds that fit
- • Technical sourcer (in-house or agency) who has supported SWE reqs.
- • Early-career technical recruiter who has run some full-cycle, but may still be developing closing skills.
- • University recruiting is explicitly in-scope, especially if they’ve supported:
- SWE intern/new grad programs
- Event strategy + pipeline building
- Hiring manager coordination and process discipline
- • Agency roots are a plus, but not required if activity level and curiosity are strong.
• Traits and abilities to prioritize
- Strong cognitive ability/problem solving - can synthesize feedback, adjust search strategy, and improve quickly.
- Coachability and responsiveness - takes direction well, iterates fast, communicates clearly.
- High activity and follow-through - consistent outbound, tight tracking, doesn’t drop threads.
- Genuine interest in tech/engineering (reads, asks questions, can converse at a practical level even if not deeply technical).
• Operating environment
- Comfortable managing multiple reqs and partnering with multiple stakeholders.
- Can keep processes moving across time zones (US + Europe) with proactive updates and clean handoffs.
• Tools & onboarding expectations (unchanged)
- Experience with Ashby preferred.
- Tools like Gem and ModernLoop (or equivalents), plus Slack and LinkedIn Recruiter.
- Laptop is provided
