Minimum Qualifications

12 Child Development units (3 units must be in infant studies)

or AA Degree in Education or Child Development.

1 year experience in a licensed child care preferred.

Job Requirements

1. Sincere desire to serve all families.

2. Ability to relate to and communicate with children and their parents.

3. Ability to communicate clearly, both written and verbally.

4. Knowledge of developmental stages relevant to age taught.

5. Participate in continuing education opportunities related to child development, child safety, and other relevant areas in child development.

6. Knowledge of child abuse regulations.

7. Current CPR and first-aid training with certificate. Must be EMSA approved.

8. Must be available to work any shift during hours of operation.

9. Take Mandated Reporter course through Community Care Licensing and present certificate upon completion to Admin (must retake every 2 years) This is a no cost course.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Develop a responsive, accepting, and consistent relationship with infants; support bonding between infants and adults, including parent and caregivers.

2. Interact frequently with infants; express respect for and affection toward them by smiling and speaking to the infants throughout the day.

3. Treat all children equally.

4. Be responsive to each child with his/her own temperament and development level.
