    Project Developer Utility-Scale Wind and Solar (Remote - USA)

    Exciting opportunity for an experienced Project Developer of utility-scale wind and/or solar projects who will lead projects from site identification through construction for leading developers and investors.

    Do you have hands-on experience developing utility-scale wind and/or solar projects across the U.S.? K2 Management is a growing, global organization with a rapidly expanding portfolio of clients; to support this demand, we are currently recruiting an experienced Project Developer to join our team. This is a multifaceted, fast-paced role with a range of external stakeholders and immediate exposure to commercial matters. Our U.S. headquarters is based in Boston, MA; this role may be based at the headquarters or may work from home at another location in the U.S. within the Eastern, Central or Mountain time zones.

    Areas of Responsibility:

    You will lead the development process for utility-scale wind and/or solar projects within the U.S. Collaborate with our clients; typically, financial investors and developers. Depending on the project scope and client’s needs, you will bring your holistic view of the development process to lead such tasks as those outlined below:

    • Act as primary client interface on assigned projects, exemplifying K2 Management’s commitment to service, communication, collaboration, and high performance.

    • Manage the project development process from site identification to completion.

    • Lead the site screening, selection and pre-feasibility process, including updating project maps and databases using GIS tools.

    • Lead or manage other K2 Management experts or subcontractors for the following tasks:

    o Resource and energy assessments and feasibility studies for proposed project sites.

    o Conduct land, market, regulatory, and other related project research.

    o Provide technical negotiation support on land leases, grid interconnection and offtake agreements.

    o Lead the permitting process at the local, state and federal levels.

    o Perform community outreach and other stakeholder management activities.

    o Lead discussions pertaining to site layout and basic design requirements in collaboration with engineers.

    o Ensure site-specific compliance with regulatory requirements, such as environmental, wildlife, etc.

    o Assist with efforts to secure transmission and interconnection rights from utilities and transmission providers.

    o Participate in preparing proposals submitted to power purchasers, including utilities, community choice aggregators, and commercial and industrial customers.

    o Manage on-the-ground subcontractors and consultants.

    • Support reporting and project tracking efforts.

    • Support the development of the U.S. customer base and represent K2 Management in meetings with potential and current clients.

    • Additional duties as required.

    Expected travel: estimated at ~20-40%, depending on client demand and project needs.

    Required Qualifications:

    · Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field and minimum of four (4) years of experience contributing to and leading project development for utility-scale wind and/or solar sites in the U.S. OR; in lieu of degree;

    · Minimum of seven (7) years’ professional experience working within the renewable energy or power generation sectors.

    · Hands-on expertise and knowledge of the broad range of activities and tasks associated with wind- and solar-specific project development.

    · Demonstrable success advancing multiple wind projects from conception through construction and completion.

    · Knowledge and hands-on experience with GIS programs, such as ArcGIS or QGIS, is not a requirement, but is desirable.

    Personal Characteristics:

    · Hands-on; comfortable working “in the weeds” as well as at a strategic level.

    · Action and results-oriented; driven to ensure project success on client’s behalf.

    · Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written.

    · Highly organized with an ability to manage multiple projects at once.

    · Service-oriented mindset; responsive, collaborative and a team player.

    · Comfortable working in a client and project-driven environment with a wide variety of projects and clients and fluctuating workloads over time.

    · Current authorization to live and work in the United States without sponsorship.
