    Job Description

    ​K2Share is looking for an Intermediate Software Test Engineer to create test processes and procedures to ensure that all information systems, products, and services meet the minimum organization standards and end-user requirements. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:  This position, under general supervision, will implement test plans, automation, and validation strategies, identify & investigate issues found during testing, and update test cases based on discovered defects and assist other members of the QA Team through careful testing.

    • Participates in cross-functional team review and estimation of items in a product backlog to identify the goals for the current sprint
    • Participates in daily scrum meetings to validate progress or identify impediments toward the sprint goals
    • Develops and maintains automated test scripts to reduce repetitive manual testing
    • Performs functional and system integration testing 
    • Documents all problems in a manner that provides effective records for subsequent investigation and validation by others 
    • Works closely with the delivery team to resolve issues - performs troubleshooting and fault isolation, documents findings, and contributes to resolution effort 
    • Participates in sprint reviews to identify behaviors that should be both applied and avoided in future sprints
    • Develops expertise in product functionality 
    • Assists with complex workflow analysis and recommend quality improvements 
    • Performs in a fast-paced environment where project deadlines are critical, and multiple projects run in parallel 
    • Requires occasional work outside of normal business hours

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: 

    • 4+ years of experience in the software development or software quality assurance fields 
    • Experience coding with Python and HTML/CSS
    • Experience creating scripts using test automation/regression software such as Selenium
    • Strong understanding of test case design, test execution, and issue resolution 
    • Knowledge of QA methodology including test planning, test reporting, bug reporting/management, and overall product life cycle 
    • Knowledge of software development lifecycle (SDLC) 
    • Knowledge of source management software such as GIT
    • Meticulous attention to detail 
    • Strong analytical skills 
    • Excellent written and communication skills

    PREFERRED SKILLS: 

    • Experience with issue-tracking software such as Jira
    • Understanding and exposure to the SEI CMMI and ISO 9001:2000 standards and requirements

     

    EDUCATION: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, MIS, or equivalent work experience

    WORK ENVIRONMENT: This job operates in a well-lit and temperature-controlled office environment. In this role, there will be the use of standard office equipment such as phones, computers, photocopiers, and filing cabinets.
