A DAY IN THE LIFE OF OUR NETWORK ENGINEER

Our Network Engineer is responsible for supporting our multi-site international Life Sciences client with all aspects of Network Infrastructure. This includes but is not limited to wired and wireless networks, routers, firewalls, and local/remote cloud. Network Engineers work with stakeholders on project planning, updating, and maintaining critical network infrastructures. This role does provide continuous learning on new and legacy hardware and infrastructure services.

WHO SHOULD APPLY

Our ideal candidate is hands-on, motivated, and detail oriented with experience in managing remote networks. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a successful track record of maintaining, troubleshooting and documenting complex networks. The individual must have the desire and ability to work in a fast paced, collaborative environment while maintaining open communication with geographically diverse teams is essential.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• As a Network Engineer, you will be responsible for engineering, automation, implementation, and operation of our current and newly developing IP networks
• Provide Root-Cause analysis, contribute to the knowledge base, and provide recommendations for continuous improvements to workflow, processes and technology
• Work closely with our Senior Network Engineers and Software Developers to automate network deployment and operations
• Troubleshoot complex problems and develop innovative solutions
• Installing and configuring switches (Juniper preferred or equivalent)
• Maintain multiple data centers around the world with unified accuracy that includes but not limited to managing global network changes
• Manage and provision devices utilizing IaC (Ansible/Terraform)
• Continuous maintenance and development of highly automated life sciences manufacturing facility networks
• Managing network security requirements in highly regulated environments to ensure with compliance standards

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

• 4 to 7 years of implementation and operational experience in IP networks
• Experience creating network documentation
• Experience with Network Access Controls (NAC) such as 802.1x
• Experience managing network monitoring systems (ie Zabbix, New Relic, Prometheus)
• Experience with automation tools such as Ansible / Terraform
• Diverse experience with Client VPN solutions. OpenVPN is a plus
• Broad knowledge of switching and routing
• Strong knowledge in network security, and firewalls
• Strong knowledge of network operating systems JunOS (Preferred)
• Strong Knowledge of Next Gen firewall solutions Palo Alto (Preferred)
• Working knowledge of wireless networks Meraki (Preferred)
• General understanding of routing protocols (BGP, OSPF)
• General understanding of switching protocols (LLDP, LACP, MLAG,STP,RSTP,VSTP)
• General understanding of network services (DHCP, DNS, SNMP, SYSLOG, NTP)
• Multi-tasking and Time Management Skills; thrives in a fast-paced, changing environment where deadlines are essential.
• Strong Customer service skills
• CCNA, CCNP, JNCIA, JNCIS, , a strong plus
