    TITLE: Senior Tax Accountant

    REPORTS TO: Tax Managers, Senior Tax Managers, and Shareholders

    SUPERVISES: Staff Accountants and Interns

    This position is located in our Canton, Ohio office.

    General Summary of Position:

    Responsible for managing client assignments and projects and delivering a high quality service. This includes coaching, advising, and supporting team members in meeting clients and self-development expectations.

    Responsible for client relationships within their area of expertise and for clients assigned to them.

    Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

    • Prepare/review various tax returns and year-end workpapers – individual, corporate, partnership, trust, and not for profit tax returns and make recommendations and decisions to address client needs.
    • Ensure the accuracy of tax returns including the documentation supporting tax positions.
    • Conduct tax research and provide effective solutions for management.
    • Identify significant tax issues including planning opportunities, deficiencies, state and local filings, and other matters.
    • Assist with tax agency notices and requests.
    • Supervise and provide assistance to staff.
    • Provide advice that enables the client to increase profitability.
    • Maintain and develop business relationships with our clients.
    • Assume additional responsibilities and perform special projects as needed.

    Education and Experience:

    • Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
    • Sufficient knowledge of tax compliance based on level of experience.
    • *CPA certification preferred*.
    • Minimum of three years of tax experience in a public accounting firm.

    Qualifications/Skills Required:

    • CCH Axcess experience preferred.
    • State and local tax experience (Income/Franchise, Sales, Use, Personal Property) a plus
    • Strong professional skills that inspire confidence and desire to be a team player who supports the vision and goals of the firm.
    • Work with minimal supervision.
    • Strong work ethic, organization, and analytical and interpersonal skills.
    • Possesses strong oral and written communication skills.
    • Ability to manage multiple responsibilities, deadlines, and commitments.
