The administrator is responsible for the various administrative functions including daily operations and staff supervision, program development, record keeping, grant writing, publicity, and sales.
The administrator should be detail oriented, possess strong organizational skills and have the ability to manage projects from start to finish. Ability to work with the curator to set up shows throughout the year, have strong communication, customer service, and supervisory skills. Needs to be able to work with volunteers and having a strong understanding of the art world is highly recommended.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
Manage the daily operations of the art center.
Supervises the curator in the development, scheduling, and implementation of exhibitions and art related events, workshops, and programs
Prepares children's art camp during the summer, obtaining teachers and assisting with media for classes and does the marketing
Develop and manage the annual budget for the museum with the Executive Director
Coordinate and implement opening receptions including the processing of all art labels and develop a catalog for each exhibition
Responsible for marketing of art museum's events, shows, classes, and website
Manages the gift shop and art sales, figures commissions, and works with finance
Ability to work with volunteers, customer service, and the curator
Salary: 32 hours per week: Tuesday through Friday with some weekends Range: $30,000 — $35,000
