    Laborer

    Job Purpose

    The Laborer is responsible for supporting construction projects efficiently and consistently while working with a team to achieve the common goal of safe, timely, and high-quality project completion.

    Client goal: Complete the job on time, with quality work, and under budget KHI goals: Complete the job in a safe manner Complete the job with no / minimal re-work

    Construction Responsibilities

    Assist with general construction labor on job sites.

    Load, unload, move, and organize tools, materials, and equipment.

    Prepare work areas and keep job sites clean and safe.

    Assist with demolition, framing, mounting, and material installation.

    Support skilled trades and project teams with daily tasks.

    Use hand tools and power tools as needed to complete assigned work.

    Help with measuring, cutting, drilling, and basic assembly.

    Follow plans, instructions, and project scope to complete work to specifications.

    Perform basic general labor duties as assigned.

    Knowledge and abilities

    Basic knowledge of construction methods, tools, and job site safety.

    Ability to read plans and follow the scope of work.

    Ability to recognize changes in the scope of work and communicate them appropriately.

    Need to be able to use a level, wrench, reciprocating saw, portable hand saw, hammer drill, and other common construction tools.

    Construction Laborers work a standard work week but may be required to work evenings and weekends to meet project milestones.

    Ability to work in crouched, kneeling, or confined positions.

    Preferred certifications such as OSHA 10.

    Ability to lift 70 pounds.

    Organize personal habits to be ready to work on time, every time.

    Handle personal issues so they do not interfere with normal working hours.

    Be prepared prior to work to complete jobs with no rework and minimal non-productive time.

    Complete jobs in the proper sequence.

    Safety

    Adheres to OSHA and KHI standards without fail

    Willing to help others adhere to OSHA and KHI standards

    Stops jobs before they become unsafe rather than waiting until the last second.

    Compensation

    $18 – $23 per hour, starting, based on experience.
