ABOUT THE SPECIAL EDUCATION MODERATE NEEDS TEACHER ROLE
Supports students that are identified on the special education continuum of services as receiving 40-79% of their instruction or social emotional programming w/ their peers. Additional supports could include: adaptive, executive functioning, and transition supports.
Supports and leads on IEP case management/compliance for identified LRE 2 students.
Progress monitors IEP goals and objectives every two weeks.
Communicates with parents or guardians, teachers, counselors, and administrators to resolve students' behavioral and academic problems and progress monitoring growth on IEP goals and objectives.
Consults and thought partners with general education teacher(s) who are in need of support with LRE 2 students.
Supports w/ assistive technology
Participates in weekly special education meetings with school site special education teacher(s) and relevant provider(s).

Collaborate with colleagues and seek feedback in the spirit of continuous improvement.
Reflect on instructional practices to meet individual professional development goals.
Assume personal responsibility for student achievement
Actively participate in professional development, grade level, and department meetings.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Participate in daily duties (i.e. breakfast, lunch, dismissal) to support school operations.
Maintain accurate records, grade book, and data tracking systems.
Qualifications
KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE, & OTHER QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree
Fulfill all state and federal guidelines to meet Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) criteria
Ability to work during after-school, evening, and weekend meetings and events at the school
Commitment to and experience with youth of various cultural and lower economic backgrounds (at least 2 years of teaching experience highly preferred)
Relentless focus on results and a commitment to teamwork
Special Education Certified or in a Emergency Credentialed Program

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
Salary range begins at $45,750 and is commensurate with experience.
