Job Description
TEACHER RESPONSIBILITIES:
DAILY WORK STREAMS
Mentor and foster strong relationships with all Affective Needs (AN) students
Deescalate students when they are emotionally dysregulated
Assist school Deans and/or Directors of Culture with AN students on consulting with behavior
Participate in a daily huddle with AN staff to discuss daily needs students, goals, level, and targeted support.
Print, gather, and organize work for AN students when students are absent or in the AN classroom
Review data and daily student goals with AN students
Collect and enter data for AN students on duration and frequency of dysregulation antecedent, behavior and consequences, and progress monitoring for IEP goals and objectives
Work one-on-one with students in general education classes or AN room to support movement , executive functioning skills, mindfulness breaks and support academic work prepared by general education teachers
Support AN teacher with preparation for mindfulness or social- emotional lessons daily for AN students
Attend monthly AN professional development and wellness support within KIPP Colorado
Support AN teacher with AN student/parent school conferences
Coordinate with AN teacher on deriving a seasonal calendar with AN external student enrichment trips and activities, career and college exploration and mentoring for all students
COLLABORATION
Collaborate with AN mental health staff to support classroom social emotional strategies, cristis plans, or behavior and emotional regulation plans.
Support AN mental health staff with weekly data collection
Participate in a daily huddle with AN staff to discuss daily needs students, goals, level, and targeted support

Qualifications
High school diploma required, Bachelor’s degree preferred
Flexibility
Willing to participate on deescalating students.
Desire to work with youth from challenging situations
Experience with care taking, mentoring, or parenting
Ability to manage data and communication through various Google and Outlook platforms
Additional Information
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
This position is full-time, academic, and non-exempt.
Salary will begin at $30,000 and is commensurate with experience.
