    Job Description

    POSITION OVERVIEW 

    The ALUMNI IMPACT TEAM is one of the newest teams at the KIPP Foundation created in 2018 to build a network of alumni who will be influencers and innovators while boldly taking their place in professional and civic places of power. The Alumni Impact Team is committed to doing this work with an entrepreneurial focus on scholarship, leadership, financial literacy, empowerment, and long-term career development. The MENTORSHIP COORDINATOR will oversee the strategy and vision setting for the mentorship components of the RALES SCHOLARS PROGRAM. The Mentor Coordinator is responsible for identifying, sourcing, training mentors, matching mentors to scholars, communicating with mentors and facilitating mentor scholar relationships. The role will also serve as the college persistence advisor for a portion of the Rales Scholars cohort.  

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

    The Mentorship Coordinator will be responsible for: 

    RELATIONSHIP MANAGEMENT 

    • Supports Scholars as well as Mentors ensuring scholars and mentor relationships are healthy, supportive, and affirming via consistent surveys and check-ins 
    • Works with each mentoring pair to provide resources to support their monthly discussions as well logistical support for in-person and virtual meetings where necessary  
    • Provides training both initially and during the program to mentors, specifically focused on diversity, equity, and inclusion and work toward calling in areas bias in pursuit of an anti-racist culture 
    • Conducts separate meetings with mentors, scholars, and Rales Manager to determine program progress and need for further assistance 
    • Communicates regularly with mentors, scholars, and Rales Manager

     

    CURRICULUM DEVELOPMENT 

    • Curates content that supports the Mentor and Scholar connection in the curriculum 
    • Provides feedback on the develop of the curriculum by Rales Manager  
    • Collects data around curriculum content and ensures that content has been discussed and delivered with fidelity

     

    PROGRAM DEVELOPMENT 

    Markets the mentoring program to appropriate networks to generate interest in participation and gain support 

    Conducts an evaluation to determine the program's effectiveness 

    Reviews program guidelines and makes appropriate changes to enhance program effectiveness 

    Monitor and evaluation: Evaluate data from mentors, scholars and Rales Manager on program goals and results 

    _Performs other duties that may arise from the mentoring program that are necessary for program success _

    EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS   

    • Bachelor’s degree  
    • Exceptionally strong organizational, interpersonal and communication skills  
    • Experience with implementing and evaluating curriculum development 
    • Comfort in working with diverse populations. 
    • Experience with mentor programs as mentor, mentee, or coordinator  
    • Proficient in MS Office tools and applications: Word, Excel, PowerPoint

    WORK CONDITIONS

    • COVID-19 considerations: Vaccinations and masks required in shared workspaces and job-related travel.

    • Travel requirements: 20-25% domestic travel required for candidates  

    • Full-time; Hours 8:00am-5:00pm EST with some evenings and weekends

     

    LOCATION 

    KIPP Foundation has offices in NYC, Chicago, San Francisco, and Washington DC. It is preferred, but not mandatory for this role to be based out of the Washington DC office. This role also has the option of working remotely, full-time.
