    Job Description

    KIPP Jacksonville Public Schools seeks a temporary, salaried, full-time substitute for our schools. The temporary substitute position would sub at one middle school in a long-term assignment and will provide coverage for P.E. and Health classes. This position would start as soon as possible and would be re-evaluated based on capacity needs through the remainder of the current school year, which ends in May 2022. 

    The substitute will execute high-quality plans that are provided for them, maintain high expectations for both behavior and academics in the classroom, and communicate with the team to ensure a smooth transition in classrooms.  For the current school year, teachers at KIPP Jacksonville Public Schools (K-8)  work from 7:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday and may have occasional meetings or special school events outside of these hours. Student hours are typically 8:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. Hours for teachers and students vary slightly by school. Every Wednesday is a student early release day (1:30 p.m.), which allows teachers to participate in weekly professional development.

    • Associate's Degree (or 60 completed college credits)
    • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with a team of teachers

    HIGHLY PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

    • Bachelor's Degree
    • Clear path to obtaining a Florida Teaching Certification 
    • Experience working in an urban public school or charter school setting
