    Job Description

    KIPP Jacksonville Public Schools seeks to add capacity to our electives department team with a visual arts instructor. This teacher would instruct classes of 9th - 12th graders. This position will work closely with the electives department which currently offers band, physical education/health, and performing arts

    A Visual Art Instructor should

    • Teach various art techniques, including drawing, painting, sculpture, and digital media, while fostering creativity and self-expression.

    • Develop and implement a curriculum aligned with Florida state standards

    • Provide constructive feedback to students on their artwork and progress while encouraging a positive and supportive classroom environment

    • Organize and participate in exhibitions, showcases, and other events to display students’ work and promote the arts program

    • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and community stakeholders to support student learning and enrichment opportunities

    We are committed to providing a quality electives department that will complement our rigorous academic program. Full teacher responsibilities are ultimately outlined by their school leader.

  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's Degree

    • Relevant Florida Teaching Certification or Eligibility for Certification in Art K-12

    • At least one complete year of teaching experience with a proven track record of high achievement in the classroom

    HIGHLY PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

    • ESOL Endorsement

    • Two or more years of secondary teaching experience with a proven track record of high achievement in the classroom

    • Experience with teaching honors level or AP level courses in a high school
