    Job Description

    The Recruitment Manager will work with their team to oversee all aspects of staff recruitment for KIPP Metro Atlanta Schools. This position will work closely with school leaders to attract, select, and retain great teachers and committed professionals. The Recruitment Manager will be responsible for working with the Director of Recruitment and all hiring managers to ensure the region has efficient and effective recruitment and selection processes, developing innovative ideas for increasing the pipeline of quality candidates, and supporting schools with retaining high performing staff.

    Teacher Recruitment 60%

    • Support Principals with identifying and retaining high-performing employees
    • Partner with school leaders to identify vacancies at their schools
    • Support with prospect outreach, including attending job fairs, other recruitment events, and support logistics and planning of fairs and KIPP-sponsored events
    • Manage application and selection process to ensure that all candidates move through in a timely manner with a consistent, positive experience 
    • Create and implement rigorous selection processes that effectively screen candidates to ensure alignment with KIPP Metro Atlanta Schools
    • Provide training on hiring and retention best practices to school leadership teams
    • Conduct application review and video interviews in a timely manner
    • Track candidate status throughout the recruitment cycle
    • Ensure timely follow up by maintaining close communication with all candidates and secure interest and applications of high quality candidates
    • Provide hiring support to schools, including attending in person interviews and serving as a thought partner to school leaders during hiring season 
    • Support schools with non-instructional and student support hiring
    • Ensure 100% of new hires matriculate on day one of professional development

    Systems & Data 20%

    • Build effective systems to ensure that all KIPP Metro Atlanta applicants, candidates, and staff members, receive consistent, professional, and clear communication regarding our hiring and talent development practices
    • Develop evaluation tools and criteria for applications, phone interviews, and in-person interviews
    • Track and maintain comprehensive data as a source for developing and improving upon existing systems and procedures related to recruitment and retention
    • Track metrics related to recruiting (e.g., candidates yielded by each source, time to hire, etc.) to evaluate various strategies and improve hiring efficiency
    • Collaborate with Principals to ensure that school sites have thoughtful onboarding plans for new staff

    Other 20%

    • Assist in developing short- and long-term recruitment calendars, strategies, and programs to attract and select a strong, diverse team to KIPP Metro Atlanta and its schools
    • Assist in developing relationships with local and national colleges, universities, and partner organizations (including Teach for America, graduate universities, and Atlanta education stakeholders)
    • Support HR Team with new hire on-boarding, exit interviews and retention initiatives
    • All other duties as assigned
     
    
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree required
    • 2 years prior experience working in recruitment for non-profits preferred
    • 2 years of teaching experience at a high performing school preferred
    • Immediate understanding of what effective teaching looks like and a deep commitment to effective and rigorous instruction 
    • Understanding of human capital best practices to recruit, select and retain great teachers
    • The ability to collaborate effectively with a diverse group of stakeholders at all levels of an organization and to consistently display a high level of professionalism in all interactions
    • Track record of success influencing and motivating partners to action
    • Ability to manage the ambiguity and multiple priorities inherent in an entrepreneurial environment
    • Demonstrated ability to lead multiple high-profile and complex projects simultaneously
    • Collaborative team player, comfortable leading as well as executing projects as required
    • Excellent leadership, management, and organizational skills required
    • Articulate, professional demeanor with strong self-confidence and initiative
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
    • Ability to exercise excellent judgment in decision-making, think strategically, work collaboratively, and gather and analyze data, compile information, and prepare reports
    • Flexible and able to multi-task within an ambiguous, fast-moving, entrepreneurial environment, while also driving toward clarity and solutions
    • Ability to motivate, excite, and educate both internal and external resources to support our work in helping our KIPPsters to create the future they want for themselves and their communities
