Qualifications
** Partial Listing of Minimum Qualifications:**
- Graduation from high school (GED acceptable) and experience in bus or similar vehicle operation; or any equivalent combination of education and experience which would provide the following knowledge, skills, and abilities:
- Demonstrated, substantive experience in the operation of large buses.
- Has knowledge of bus operation and bus equipment.
- Has considerable knowledge of motor vehicle laws, ordinances and safe driving practices, and streets and locations within the City of Nashville.
- Has knowledge of safety standards and precautions pertaining to proper bus operation.
- Must have the ability to sit, drive, and maneuver long-wheel-based vehicles for extended periods of time.
- Demonstrates a mature, calm and responsible attitude in dealing with the students, and has the ability to work cooperatively with other employees and the general public.
- Candidate has considerable ability to communicate effectively (both orally and written), and to follow both oral and written instructions.
- Has possession of, and ability to maintain, a valid Tennessee Commercial Class B Driver's license, air brake qualified and passenger endorsement and an excellent driving record.
- Must obtain and maintain CPR medical certification upon hiring.
