We are looking for leaders who combine the ability to motivate and educate, to develop academic as well as character skills, and to make a college preparatory education relevant both now and for the future. We look for leaders with at least 3 years of teaching experience and a desire to make a difference in the lives of students in New Orleans.
Responsibilities:
Manage a cohort of teachers to achieve their individual development goals, coordinate action plans for professional growth, and evaluate progress in each goal
Provide continuous coaching and evaluation on all competencies of the KIPP New Orleans Core Teaching Rubric
Support the development of teacher-driven professional goals through a regular observation process, including pre-observation conferencing, observation, and post-observation conferencing
Collaborate with the School Leader to plan and implement teacher professional development
Opportunities to teach subset of courses and serve as a model/lab classroom
Modeling the school’s values in all communications with students, families, and staff
Assist in development of curriculum standards and mapping
Be prepared to do whatever it takes for students to excel
Committing to constant professional and personal growth through working closely as part of a team of teachers
Work well on a team faced with the challenge of building and maintaining a school collaboratively
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree required
Minimum of 3-5 years of teaching experience strongly preferred
Strong record of helping students from underserved neighborhoods achieve academic success
Experience in adult supervision and administration preferred
Willing and able to play different roles at the school, and to go above and beyond to meet the varied and constant needs of the students and staff
Model positive and healthy character traits and habits, such as being organized, consistent and understanding
Excellent human relations, organizational, communication and facilitation skills
Experience in analyzing student data and using data to inform instruction
Experience managing adults; goal setting, providing meaningful feedback and setting professional development plans
Multi-skilled, resourceful, and willing to do whatever it takes to help our students achieve academic excellence
