  • Responsibilities

    Job Description

    The above-referenced duties will include, but are not limited to the following:

    ●        Provide behavioral interventions, including brief solution-focused strategies

    ●        Provide individual and group behavior counseling to reset students to return to the classrooms

    ●        Provide crisis intervention counseling as needed

    ●        Make recommendations for BNA, ISS, and OSS.

    ●        Maintain necessary documentation of discipline including Dean’s List

    ●        Provide consultation and support to teachers working with students

    ●        Provide regular contact with parents to monitor and support progress towards goals

    ●        Assist students, teachers, and parents to develop solutions to family and community factors that influence students’ capacity or ability to learn and behave

    ●        Participate in school staff teams to develop policies and practices to prevent school violence and support opportunities for team-building and collaboration among students

    ●        Help shape and develop a school-wide atmosphere that best suits the needs of our students, teachers, and families

    ●        Do whatever is assigned by school principals which include duties, tasks and any other assignments that will assist the school to further the mission

     

    Dean of Culture duties may change from time to time on a reasonable notice, based on the needs of KIPP OKC.  The Dean of Culture will be required to follow the policies and procedures in KIPP OKC's personnel policy manual, KIPP OKC’s Mindsets & Beliefs statement, and the KIPP Foundation Leadership Framework and Competency Model, although these policies may be amended, supplemented or revoked from time to time on reasonable notice.

    QUALIFICATIONS 

    • Bachelor’s degree required.
    • Preference will be given to those who hold a teaching certification. 
    • Commitment to and experience with youth of various cultural and lower economic backgrounds (at least 2 years of teaching experience highly preferred).
    • Satisfactory outcome of a background check.
