    Job Description

    THE OPPORTUNITY

    • The Regional Operations Associate, reporting to the Associate Director of Regional Operations, will have a critical role in supporting the ongoing operations and growth of KIPP SoCal Public Schools with a specific focus on supporting the implementation of policies and procedures in the areas of Emergency Preparedness, School Moves, and Procurement. Additionally, s/he will have administrative responsibilities in support of the Regional Operations team, such as coordinating the logistics for offsite meetings and events.  The ideal candidate will have a passion for education, student safety, and a high level of organization and attention to detail.

    EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS

    • Support all aspects of emergency preparedness across KIPP SoCal schools, including but not limited to student safety protocols and emergency procedure protocols
    • Support with Great California ShakeOut preparations at the regional and school level, including but not limited to updating emergency documentation templates and construction of emergency binders
    • Monitor the timely completion of compliance action items across schools, including tracking  the completion of monthly emergency drills and annual online emergency prep training required for team members
    • Provide support with the implementation of a standardized visitor management process and platform
    • Provide support to school business operations managers with inventorying and ordering emergency supplies
    • Provide support to school business operations managers to ensure annual school safety plans are current and compliant with applicable regulations and include policies and procedures to ensure a safe and orderly campus

    PROCUREMENT

    • Coordinate with regional and school-based team members to drive organizational compliance to KIPP SoCal’s fiscal policies and procedures and federal/state regulations
    • Create and manage users on all procurement systems (Amazon Business, Staples, Square, Lakeshore, etc.)
    • Troubleshoot and provide support to School Business Operations Managers and Regional Ops Team with navigating procurement software/systems 
    • Work in coordination with school-based teams, Regional Ops team, and Finance team to place organizational-wide supply orders (ex. PPE supplies) and secure preferred vendors

    SCHOOL MOVES

    • Support schools that are moving to a co-located campus with the annual process of applying for Prop39, including signature collection and data input/validation 
    • Provide weekly updates on Prop 39 signature collection to necessary stakeholders

    GENERAL OPERATIONS TEAM SUPPORT

    • Update KIPP SoCal’s operations website regularly with resources and best practices 
    • Provide general administrative support to the Regional Operations team as necessary, including but not limited to: Coordination and logistics for offsite meetings and events, Monthly data updates on compliance dashboards
    • Provide on-the-ground operations support for schools as required, including but not limited to: Arrival and dismissal support, Front office administration
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • A bachelor's degree from an accredited institution
    • 2-3+ years of regional, community, and/or grassroots organizing and project management experience
    • Effective teamwork orientation with the ability to communicate and build relationships with multiple constituencies, including school leaders and community organizations 
    • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and adapt to changing prioritiesVoluntary Benefits (Pet Insurance, Supplemental Life, Accident, Short Term Disability, etc.)
    • Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills; experience using Excel and/or Google Sheets to analyze large amounts of data and perform quantitative analysis
    • Comfort with ambiguity and working in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
    • Familiarity with communities within Los Angeles Unified School District, Compton Unified School District and/or San Diego Unified School District preferred
    • A demonstrated passion for improving K-12 public education
    • Available to work some weekends and evenings
    • Valid driver’s license and dependable transportation as travel between school sites in South and East Los Angeles and Compton will be required

    • Salary range for this role is $48,000 - $60,000 per year
