    Job Description

    The Opportunity

    KIPP Texas has made compliance an organizational priority and strategic initiative for School Year 2020-2021. The Compliance Coordinator is responsible for coordinating the institutional activities that ensure compliance with TEA and federal regulations.  This role will work closely with the KIPP Texas, Academics, Finance and Operations Teams in order to stay compliant with state charter school and federal requirements.  

    Key Responsibilities

    • Coordinate the administration of a statewide program to ensure compliance with all Federal and State requirements including but not limited to:

      • Special Education

      • Improvement Required (IR) Reporting

      • Health & Wellness

      • Financial Reporting (ESSA & Title)

      • Internal Audits

      • Grants

      • House Bill 3 (HB3) Requirements

      • Public Education Information Management System (PEIMS) and related tasks

      • Operational reporting through Texas Education Agency Login (TEAL)

      • Senate Bill 11 (SB11) School Safety

      • Board Compliance

    • Administer a compliance platform to calendar all compliance requirements, document submissions to relevant authorities, and provide comprehensive compliance metrics

    • Coordinate the development, implementation and maintenance of internal compliance policies and best practices

    • Provide input into the development of comprehensive needs assessments, campus/district improvement plans, program evaluations, and budgets

    • Work closely with peers to monitor execution of current compliance requirements

    • Train stakeholders on regulatory practices as required

    • Create and directly manage compliance submissions as needed

    • Other duties as assigned.

  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

     

    • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to perform related data analysis, statute interpretation, and problem solving

    • Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively with others in a fast paced environment and meet established deadlines

    • Experience with regulatory filings and demonstrated ability to track and meet deadlines

    • Strong computer skills required

    • Strong communication skills required

    • Experience supporting K-12 compliance preferred

    • Bachelors degree preferred
