Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited 4 year college or university.
- Experience conducting preference assessments, skills assessments and functional behavior assessments
- Experience in goal development and report writing
- Experience consulting with parents, teachers and support personnel
OR
- Any equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential duties and responsibilities of the position
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Professional licensure as a Licensed Specialist in School Psychology (LSSP), Licensed Master Social worker (LMSW), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), or professional certification as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA)or Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analyst (BCaBA)
- Knowledge of Positive Behavioral Intervention & Supports (PBIS) in within the framework of Response to Intervention (RtI)
- Knowledge of rules and regulations associated with the Student Code of Conduct, TEA regulations regarding restraints and the reporting of restraints, and classroom management practices
- Knowledge of the elements of a Functional Behavior Assessment and a Behavior Intervention Plan
- Knowledge of a variety of behavior intervention strategies and how to implement them in the classroom
- Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) or other Nonviolent Crisis Intervention training

- Possession of a passionate and loving attitude toward all children
- Responsiveness; Follow-up and follow-through with students, families, and faculty members is essential
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Reliable transportation is needed for travel between campuses
- Ability to maintain emotional control under stress.
- Work with frequent interruptions.
